Race 16, Woody's
The Key To Victory Is....
Due to most of the carts in the last DRAGG event having broken one thing or another, drivers having to work, attend weddings, or otherwise being unavailable, NUDRS was able to field only 3 cars and drivers.
Also lacking was any extra bodys to drive the chase vehicle down the hill to take us back up. This was solved by leaving 1 vehicle at the bottom and towing the carts up the hill for the start, leaving one vehicle at the top, racing down the hill, then towing the carts back up the hill to the other vehicle, loading up the carts and moving on to the next race. Complicated I know, but necessary.
Fat Guy joined us for the first time this season driving Chicken-Coupe lineing up with Quaker Chevelle in Hawaiian Punch and Cobra in Mayhem. Fat Guy quickly fell behind as Quaker kept up the pace for a while but soon fell back as Cobra pulled away. The next 4 miles were smooth as glass as Mayhem reached a peak speed of 63mph. Hawwaiian Punch rolled up shortly after as did Chicken-Coupe.
This is when Quaker revealed that he forgot his keys for his van at the bottom in the truck at the top. Just as Cobra was about to begin a 4+ mile uphill trek up hill to get the truck, Quaker and Fat Guy were able to flag down a ride from a willing bystander. This gave them all barely enough time to go on to the next race at Jackass Slopes.
1st - Cobra / Mayhem
2nd - Quaker Chevelle / Hawaiian Puch
3rd - Fat Guy / Chicken-Coupe
