NUDRS Racing
NUDRS does not condone the willing breaking of laws for the purpose of sport. We seek to work within the realm of what is legal as we go out to ride. We find roads that are steep enough to get any kind of decent speed with enough curves to make things interesting. These roads must also have reasonably low traffic as to not place either participants or motorists/pedestrians at risk. Gravity cart drivers are strongly encouraged to maintain their lane of travel and not cross lanes without all due concideration for safety.
Nobody wants to go to the nearest cllinic or hospital ER instead of their own home when the fun is over.
NUDRS likes to utilize hills at different locations so as not to wear out our welcome in any one place. If we were to return to the same place time after time, locals and law enforcement might not look kindly upon us. We rely on their good will and the courtesy of our members to maintain a respectable relationship so that we may return again another day without conflict.
Every month NUDRS hosts an event at one location or another where multiple runs are made down the hill. The first is the trophy race, where season points are earned and the trophy is passed to the new winner or retained by the reining victor. Afterwords, there are fun runs. These are runs down the hill for fun's sake without pressure of competition. This is a great time for our support crew (truck drivers, camera operators, traffic controlers. ect) to share in on the fun.
At the end of the year, season points are tallied and a season champion is declared. The trophy which was passed from winner to winner, all the while collecting new trinkets and baubles, is then presented to the champion for bragging rights and permanent possession. At the start of the next season, the previous champion is responsible for procuring a new trophy to be awarded the victor of the next season's first trophy run.
Any driver who fails to procure the trophy after an event will be subject to the "head shake of shame" by all other members until it is produced.
Stickers are to awarded to all who participate in a trophy run. The different stickers include, "Winner" for the first place finisher, "Completed" for all who cross the finish line under thier cart's own speed, and "DNF" for those who are unable to complete the event. Stickers are the property of the cart they drove and not the driver. They are to be placed somewhere upon the cart for all to see it's racing heritage.
Drivers earn points and trophies, carts earn stickers.
