Fun Run, 01/28/13, Rock City
Only In Lad Vegas!
The Lion and Cobra go exploring with no idea where they'll end up.
The 01/28/13 race did not happen, but you"ll laugh when you hear why.
As you know there must always be a driver for the chase car to return carts and divers back to the top. As it were, one of the support crew that that was a sure thing ended up
getting drunk and marrying an exotic dancer at a wedding chappel on the Strip. Only in Las Vegas! His brother was also suposed to show up for the race but got so drunk at the "...ceramony" that he was still passed out when it was time to race.
So.... undaunted, we 3 drivers set off with our 3 carts bent on racing. We figured we would have to race 2 at a time in 3 races rotating the drivers so that we could figure an over all winner. But before we got to our destination, we decided on a practice run on a hill that we were not sure would be any good. It is a good thing we did too, because we found that Chick-in-Coupe had brake problems that would not allow it to come to a stop and the pins that latched it's canopy style roll cage down got sheared off due to excesive road vibrations (stupid aluminum pins).
Chick-in-Coupe was out of action for safty reasons. So we decided to try a bike path off to the side that had a good slope. It turned out to be one of the funnest rides we have ever had. Twists and turns a plenty, low bridges to go
under, inclines to ride side-hill on, debris to maneuver. Just watch the video.
